Here is a report that reflects what all of us have known. It discusses the income and effective tax rates of the top 400 taxpayers in the US (measured by adjusted gross income).
I had not paid much attention to this report in the past. Of course, it may be because for 8 years the Bush Administration refused to release it. What a surprise.

Unbelievable.
Maybe if we stopped relying more and more on mercenaries private security companies, there wouldn't be so many incentives for people to leave the government. But where's the profit in that?
Update: Think about this when you read articles like this. Do you think our intelligence agencies will stop people from moonlighting over the next six months because of the heightened threat? Why do that when we have our private security companies?
